SURFLEET PARISH COUNCIL

MEETING MINUTES

Minutes of Meeting held on 30th March 2021 via zoom

Present.

Councillors: Cllr Glynn Waltham (Chairman), Alan Tokley, James Lacey, Trevor Wright and Patrick Caulfield.

In attendance: Granville Hawkes (Clerk).

1   Apologies for absence: 

Cllrs Templeman, Godderidge and Storey.

2   Public Forum:

No public members present.

3   Approve minutes of the previous meeting January 2021:

These had been circulated and were agreed as a true record

4   Matters arising:

The Clerk reported that Cllr Godderidge had repainted the milestone.

5.   Police matters:

There was no new update.

6.   Highway matters:

There was no new update.

7   Cemetery matters:

Cllr Godderidge had advised the Clerk that the rabbit and mole problem had been eradicated. The defibrillator has been moved from the village hall to Tonic Health.

The Clerk will liaise with Cllr Godderidge to sort out the detail of the grass cutting contract.

8.   Finance report:

The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue,

The Bank reconciliation was circulated and was agreed by members. The new bank mandate is being organised through Barclays Bank and needs to be progressed as soon as possible.

9   Planning: 

Applications have been circulated and actioned.

10.   Welland rivers trust:

The Clerk has attended two meetings organized by Perry Burns but we will need a nominee to initiate any local projects.

11.   Members reports:

Cllr Wright reported that if we place a litter bin at the Post office the owner will empty it on a regular basis. TW will contact SHDC to see if a bin placed at the bus shelter in Station Road can be added to their regular list. He will also enquire about fluorescent vests for litter pickers.

Cllr Waltham has asked that Emmetts be contacted about littering in Marsh Farm road and improving signage for drivers as satellite navigation systems are sending lorries down Coney Garth lane.

12.   Correspondence:

The Clerk has been contacted for financial support from the martial arts school at Tonic health, too late for the agenda but will seek more information.
