SURFLEET PARISH COUNCIL
MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of the parish meeting held on 15th June2021 at the Lady Fraiser room, Surfleet.
Present.
Councillors: Cllr Glynn Waltham (Chairman), Alan Tokley, James Lacey, Trevor Wright and Patrick Caulfield.
In attendance: The Freepress and Granville Hawkes (Clerk).
1 Apologies for absence:
Cllrs Godderidge and Storey.
2 Public Forum:
No public members present.
3 Approve minutes of the previous meeting May 2021:
These had been circulated and were agreed as a true record
4 Matters arising:
No matters arising the Clerk will contact Cllr Storey for an update on his current status.

5. Police matters:
Cllr Wright has reported anti social behaviour in Park Lane to the police. Untaxed vehicles in Station Road have also been reported.
6. Highway matters:
Cllr Waltham reported ongoing problems in Marsh Drove which Cllr Tokley will report

7 Cemetery matters:
Cllr Godderidge written report advised that there are only two rabbits in the cemetery. There will be a need to do some tree surgery work in the winter.
8. Finance report:
The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue,

101046 M Firth Landscape £ 1,488.00 vat £248.00
101047 N Bryan £ 400.00 replaces 101043
Balances:

The Bank reconciliation was circulated and was agreed by members.
9 Planning:
Applications have been circulated and actioned.
10. Litter bins:
Cllr Wright advised that the owner of the Post office would keep the litter bin empty so Councillors requested that the Clerk order a new bin.

Cllr Wright will chase SHDC regarding a new bin to be installed at the bus stop in Station Road.

The Clerk will write to the Environment Agency about the litter, slipway and boats in Park Lane

11. Grass cutting contract:
The Clerk has dispatched a tender to four potential contractors.
12. Playpark:
Surfleet community volunteers have installed a new tower roof, cleaned and weeded at no cost to date thanks to local donations of time and resources. Equipment including three replacement nets is now required at a maximum cost of £1,800 and play chippings £800. Members agreed unanimously to support these budget figures so that orders can be progressed.

13 Members reports:
Cllr Caulfield confirmed that the footpath near the Riverside Inn had been cut and tidied up.
14. Correspondence:
The Clerk confirmed that he had received an email from Roy Sells about construction traffic levels on Reservoir road.
