MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of the parish meeting held on 15th April 2025 at the Fraiser Room, Surfleet.
Present.
Councillors: Cllrs Alan Tokley (Chairman), Elizabeth Jones, James Lacey, Trevor Wright, Patrick Caulfield, District Cllr Liz Sneath and Granville Hawkes (Clerk).

Public Forum: No public members present. |

3. |
Approve minutes of the previous meeting January 2024: The minutes had been circulated before the meeting, on the proposition of Cllr Jones, seconded by Cllr Tokley were agreed by all and signed by the Chairman as a true record. |

Matters arising: None |

5. |
Highway matters: The 30mph signs are being moved to reflect recent building of new houses on Reservoir Road a TRO has been issued by LCC Highways. There are increasing parking issues adjacent to the Riverside Inn and the Clerk will contact PC L Richardson. Cllr Caulfield will report on Fix my Street. Cllr Wright has received a request from a resident in Thary Lane which the Clerk will refer to Cllr King to follow up. |

Cemetery matters The dead tree still needs to be removed, as per the Sterma quotation, the Clerk will chase them to complete the work now the grown is harder. There is another mole problem and traps have been set. |

Finance report: The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue, which members agreed, 101192 Clerk salary £ 246.17 101193 Clerk salary £ 241.77 101194 HMRC £ 137.40 101195 LALC £ 410.32 101196 St Laurence Flower und £ 95.00 101197 David Lewis £ 875.00 101198 Lady Fraiser charity £ 105.00 101199 LIVES £ 1,050.00 The Bank reconciliation was circulated to members.
The Clerk reported that the 2024-2025 accounts had been completed. Members proposed and approved the Annual Governance Statement (section 1). Members then proposed and approved the Statement of Accounts (section 2). Members then proposed and agreed that the Chairman sign the annual return as approved. The Clerk will submit the audit and publish the relevant public notice. |

Planning: The Clerk confirmed that planning applications had been circulated and actioned with comments reported to SHDC. |

Surfleet United Charity: The Clerk will contact the Chairman Glynn Waltham |

Beacon lantern cage: Beacon lantern is being refurbished and once complete will be installed. |
|

12. |
Members reports: AT had attended the Outer Dowsing consultation on the offshore wind farm. A sub station covering 14 hectares will be proposed to be installed at Surfleet marsh, there will be no need for battery storage. The next meeting is arranged for 10th October. |
