SURFLEET PARISH COUNCIL

MEETING MINUTES

Minutes of the parish meeting held on 29th March 2022 at Lady Fraiser meeting room, Surfleet.

Present.

Councillors: Cllr Glynn Waltham (Chairman),Trevor Wright Patrick Caulfield Philip Godderidge and James Lacey.

In attendance: Granville Hawkes (Clerk).

1   Apologies for absence: 

Cllr Tokley

2   Public Forum:

No public members present.

3   Approve minutes of the previous meeting January 2022:

These had been circulated, were agreed and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

4   Matters arising:

The Clerk has written to Cllr Storey and has received a letter of resignation due to ill health which will be reported to SHDC.

5.   Police matters:

There were no new issues raised – confirmed item can be removed from agenda.

6.   Highway matters:

Cllrs reported no new issues.

7   Cemetery matters:

Cllr Wright had received an email regarding grass cuttings on the graves and will liaise with the contractor.

Members agreed for the Clerk to start transferring the burial records to XL spreadsheet.

8.   Finance report:

The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue,

101080 St Laurence Church          £        95.00

The Clerk will query the invoice from M Firth Landscapes re the war memorial.

9   Planning: 

Applications have been circulated and actioned.

10.   Litter bins:

Cllr Wright reported that the new bin had been installed at the bus stop in Station Road. 

11.   Playpark:

The Chairman reported that he had a meeting with Mr Whyles who had commissioned a safety report for the play area, a copy will be sent to the parish council for consideration.

12.   Dog bin Coalbeech Lane South:

The Clerk has reported this to SHDC who now appear to be emptying on a more regular basis.

13.   Queens jubilee:

Cllr Wright reported that Celebrate Surfleet with local community groups  had booked the village hall for 2nd June and a number of events were being organised, members unanimously agreed to provide a budget of £500 for associated expenditure.

14.   Members reports:

Cllr Godderidge advised that he will repaint the milestone.
