SURFLEET PARISH COUNCIL

MEETING MINUTES

Minutes of the parish meeting held on 14th June 2022 at Lady Fraiser meeting room, Surfleet.

Present.

Councillors: Cllr Glynn Waltham (Chairman), Patrick Caulfield, Alan Tokley and James Lacey, Dist Cllr Slade & two members of the public

In attendance: Granville Hawkes (Clerk).

1   Apologies for absence: 

Cllrs Godderidge and Wright.

2   Public Forum:

A member of the public asked for clarification of the parish position re the planning application for Thary Lane ref H17-0357-22.

3   Approve minutes of the previous meeting May 2022:

These had been circulated, were agreed and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

4   Matters arising:

None.

5.   Highway matters:

The removal of the 30 mph sign was discussed and recommended that a letter be sent to SHDC to move the sign to outside the village plan

Action: GJH

6.   Cemetery matters

The Chairman reported that the contractor for the cemetery was concerned at the way the plots had been left by a grave digger following a burial. The Clerk will contact the funeral director and review the Cemetery Regulations to present at the next meeting.

Cllr Godderidge reported by email that he had called in the pest controller as the rabbit problem had reappeared.

7   Finance report:

The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue,

Balances:

Interest a/c £10,994

Total           £ 19,031

The Bank reconciliation was circulated and was agreed by members. 

8.   Planning: 

Applications have been circulated and actioned. 

9   Playpark:

No new update, the Clerk confirmed the repairs were due to be completed this month.

13.   Members reports:

JL – reported damage and litter at the slipway in Park Lane, the Clerk will contact the Environment Agency.

14.   Correspondence:

Members requested that Sterma be contacted to arrange the flailing of the river bank in early August.

Action: GJH

15.   Date of next meeting:

Tuesday 20th September 2022.
