SURFLEET PARISH COUNCIL
MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of the parish meeting held on 4th April 2023 at Lady Fraiser meeting room, Surfleet.
Present.
Councillors: Cllrs Glynn Waltham (Chairman), Patrick Caulfield, James Lacey and Alan Tokley
In attendance: Granville Hawkes (Clerk).
1 Apologies for absence:
Cllrs Godderidge and Wright.
2 Public Forum:
No members of the public present.
3 Approve minutes of the previous meeting January 2023:
These had been circulated, were agreed and signed by the Chairman as a true record.
4 Matters arising:
None
5. Highway matters:
1. The home made speed sign in Station Road is causing an issue, the Clerk will write.
2. Cllr Lacey reported problems with cars parking on the road outside the Crown, he will supply pictures and the Clerk will report to LCC Highways.
6. Cemetery matters
The Clerk has received details of other cemeterys fees and will provide recommendations to the next parish meeting.
7 Finance report:
The Clerk reported the following cheques for issue,
101117 Clerk salary £ 222.71
101118 Clerk salary £ 218.51
101119 HMRC £ 83.00
101120 St Laurence church £ 95.00
101121 Complete weed control £ 2,028.00 vat £338.00
101122 A Castledine £ 300.00
101123 David Lewis £ 875.00
The Bank reconciliation was circulated and was agreed by members.
8. Planning:
The Clerk confirmed that planning applications had been circulated and actioned with comments reported to SHDC.
9. Members reports:
Cllr Lacy proposed that two new metal litter bins be installed by the jetty but off the Environment agency land which members agreed.
Action: Clerk
10. Correspondence:
Cllr Waltham reported that he would not be standing for re election and members and the Clerk thanked him for all his help and support over many years.
